Computer Aided Design and Building Information Modeling

IBE Consulting Engineers has the capability to carry out all drawing work in AutoCAD 2002, AutoCAD 2006 or AutoCAD MEP 2009 following IBE CAD standards for file set-up and layer naming conventions.

IBE Consulting Engineers can generate MEP designs using Revit Systems software released by Autodesk Revit. Our staff has advanced training in MEP Revit Plus software and sophisticated engineering analysis to help model the mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems and systems performance.

In addition to the above, IBE Consulting Engineers has the ability to become an active contributor to Building Information Modeling (BIM) if the project will use it as a tool for communication, dimensional control, shop drawings, requests for information, visualization, and any other uses of the data modeled that the Owner/design/construction team may deem in the benefit of the project. Software will be selected for team compatibility.

At each BIM check and project milestone, the Executive Architect together with the CM will provide submission of live BIM data in native format, and a 3D spatial representation of the status model in Navisworks, Adobe 3D PDF or other format viewable by the owner with, including a report on data consistency checks and resolution of cross-discipline interferences.

The Executive Architect will be responsible for Navisworks interoperability unless mutually decided otherwise as the project progresses. Models will be available for review to the team as needed for ongoing coordination and monitoring.
