FIRM PROFILE

With the belief that engineering components should enhance the architecture of a building, IBE Consulting Engineers designs mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems that are responsive to architectural goals, meet client’s budgets and technical expectations, and achieve additional measures such as energy efficiency, ease of maintenance, and system integration. Our engineers take active roles on project teams throughout the schematic design, design development, and construction document phases of each project to ensure that they are an integral part of the team, adding value to all phases of the design and construction process.

EXPERIENCE

Having considerable individual and combined experience in the design of large and complex projects, IBE has completed more than 300 projects since being founded in 1999 and has more than 100 projects currently active. The firm has been involved in a vast array of project types, including entertainment facilities, museums, libraries, laboratories, film archives, educational facilities, retail and office buildings, and housing projects. Operating throughout the United States and internationally, IBE employs 66 people and is based in Sherman Oaks, California with an office in Paris, France.

At IBE, we believe in fostering long-term relationships with our clients and providing engineering design services that foster those relationships. As examples of the success of this goal, we have been involved in 19 projects with UCLA, 15 with the LA Community College District, and are currently working on our eighth California State University project and our fourth at California Institute of Technology. IBE has also developed a strong presence at UC San Diego in the recent past, having completed three projects at that campus and working on two additional projects there, currently.

With seven LEED® Accredited Professional engineers on staff, we try to implement the fundamentals of sustainability on each project. Recently, the Water + Life Museums complex received a Platinum LEED® rating and became the first museum project to accomplish this. It also received AIA Honor Awards from the AIA Los Angeles and Pasadena/Foothill chapters. The Audubon Visitor’s Center at Deb's Park also achieved a Platinum LEED® rating, along with a San Francisco AIA “Best of the Bay” Award for Green Design and the Los Angeles Business Council Award for Green Design. Other projects with sustainability goals and features include all 15 projects with LACCD, La Kretz Hall at UCLA, the Cooper Union New Engineering and Academic Building in New York, and the Los Angeles Children’s Museum at Hansen Dam.
