Los Angeles Business Council Honors IBE Projects

Several IBE projects were recognized by the Los Angeles Business Council
(LABC) during today's 2009 Los Angeles Architectural Awards ceremony at the
The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel.
The 1913 Building Seismic Upgrade and Rehabilitation project at the Natural
History Museum (NHM) of Los Angeles County received the LABC's Preservation
Award. Along with other projects at the Natural History Museum, IBE provided
mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering services on the historic 1913
Building, working with CO Architects.For the NHM press release on the

IBE also worked on The Campus at Playa Vista - Parcel 3, which was presented with the Under Construction Award for Commercial projects. The project consists of approximately 325,000 SF of Class A office space in the Playa Vista development and the architect is Gensler.
In addition, the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) received the
Community Impact Award for its $6 billion Sustainable Building Program which
seeks to build 90 new green buildings over its nine colleges. IBE has worked
on several of these projects, including the Los Angeles Harbor College
Student Services and Northeast Academic Building, with Steinberg Architects,
