Cirilo Marquez brings over 29 years of electrical engineering experience to each project. He has led projects for private and institutional clients including research facilities, recreational facilities and cultural projects. With a specialist interest in technological advances, Cirilo brings ideas to each project which will enhance the performance of the MEP systems and the overall performance of each building.

Peter Simmonds, Ph.D., Senior Associate
Mechanical

Peter Simmonds has more than 26 years of experience in the design of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems involving large and complex projects in the United States and overseas and has served as lead mechanical engineer responsible for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems' design and project manager for a number of multi-disciplinary projects. Peter has been responsible for the design of mechanical systems in museums, sport and recreation facilities, university buildings, hospitals, and laboratories, along with civic, cultural, and performing arts centers. His expertise is utilized with his own specially developed design and control techniques and his designs represent the latest technology in improving thermal comfort, building performance, and low energy usage. Peter’s methods have contributed to innovative design solutions on many sustainable and energy efficient projects such as The Museum of Water and Life and the Los Angeles Federal Courthouse.

Peter has extensive experience of computer simulation techniques for energy performance and comfort analysis as well as knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Prior to working at Battle McCarthy, Peter was a Research and Development engineer with RTB Van Heugten in the Netherlands; Flack+Kurtz in New York, San Francisco, and Hong Kong offices; and Arup in London

Jane O'Neill, Senior Associate
Office Manager

Jane joined IBE in 2000 as the first official employee. As the office manager, Jane has formed an internal structure and organized the daily operatations which keep IBE running smoothly and efficiently. Prior to joining IBE, she was managing an office for a medical practice.
